Postdoctoral Scholar

The Bionic Systems Lab (https://bsl.engr.ucr.edu) at the University of California, Riverside invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in the area of assistive wearable robots for the lower extremities. Candidates with a background in mechanical design, (soft) robotics, and human-robot interaction will be considered.  The hiring is immediate.

The Scholar will join a dynamic group of researchers working at the forefront of human-robot systems. We design, build, and experimentally test wearable and assistive robots, active prostheses and orthoses, neuroprostheses, and collaborative robots.

Prospective applicants should hold a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, or other related disciplines. Strong research and publication background is required. Fluency in English speaking/writing is required. Experience with fabrication/design of soft pneumatic-based actuators, textile/garment fabrication, and physical human-robot interaction is highly desired. The initial term of appointment is funded for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Applicants should send the following, in a single pdf, via email with subject line 'UCR-BSL postdoc application' to jrealmut@ucr.edu:
